NIKE & COLE HAAN
So this doesn’t have anything to do with neither Vitesse not motorcycling. But since Vitesse was born on the idea of merging innovative technology with luxurious, traditional styling elements, this did catch our attention.
While the Oregon’s athletic powerhouse needs no introduction, it’s not so public that they do own Cole Haan, a respected, traditional high end footwear brand based in the North East of the USA. Thus far, Nike and Cole Haan collaborations have been based on relatively discreet use of Air cushioning, and has kept the eventual creative result clearly closer to Cole Haan’s tradition than to Nike’s innovation.
But that was then. The 2012 Lunargrand Wingtip changes that, mixing Cole Haan’s superb craftsmanship and traditional wingtip design with Nike’s bold and latest Lunarfoam technology. The result is stunning, allowing you to pick whatever you want to see and remember about it. The truth and the matter is, this could be a giant step in Men’s footwear, as it does close the gap between athletic performance and classy styling, without sacrificing anything it seems.
Smart.

SUPERCHARGED FOOTWEAR: WORKSHOP

After 2 years selling boots, we gained some certainties. One is, that in an ideal moto life, everyone would wear leathers, gloves, full - face helmets and full size boots. The second one is, this isn’t real…

When it comes to boots, we’ve received consistent feedback from people who want even more day - ability, people who will favor look and feel or people that want to chance things a bit, that a Vitesse “shoe” would be a good idea.

Well here it is: we’ve unveilled today, at the Paris World Bike Show, a collection of 4 supercharged footwear products. They’re not boots anymore, because they’re lower than boots. They’re not just shoes either, because they pack a great dose of Vitesse technology including our mighty V-Cockpit.

With this, we hope and we think we’ve built the first moto footwear to be so performance driven without being a boot. As a matter of fact, the only real thing you’ll lose over our boots is front shin protection and lateral heel sliders. We’ve also adjusted the fit so that these are closer to the body for better feel and more pant - to - boot connection.

The first of the collection is Workshop. A sister project to Hunt, it’s a contemporary and functional take on traditional work boots.

Its’ fully waterproof thanks to a newly developed oily and grainy leather that will age really well and take color superbly. Comes in 4 colors, including Conda green, Cafe brown and Western tan.

Glamis anyone?

OAK

Since we’ve started thinking about retail partnerships and trade shows, we’ve tried to develop a simple display unit for our products that would resemble the brand’s creative guidelines. Here it is, ready for the World Bike Show in Paris: it’s a simple and beautiful oak base that will house an inter - changeable backdrop picture. The front part is cut - out to receive our info cards. Come see it in Paris, with new products on.

HUNT
So we are Vitesse.
We design, manufacture and commercialize products for people who appreciate beautiful and functional objects that have an attitude and a mission. And for the time being, these products are avant-garde motorcycle boots.
Hunt represents Vitesse really well: like all of our boots it’s designed around an integral ankle management device called V-Cockpit that balances walk - ability and protection well, and its design is bold. People who like it like it a lot, people who don’t like it usually really dislike it. And that is fine.
Like its siblings Glove and Vulcan, Hunt has launched in the Spring of 2010, and has helped Vitesse position itself as a different yet viable alternative to existing boots, typically very safe yet not easy to wear, or easy to wear but not so safe, we think.
So why are we posting a picture of a boot that’s been out for a year and a half and that you might have seen many times already? Because with all the good things about our boots, some people still will not wear boots when they ride…They will not wear our boots, they will not wear any boots. Maybe they never crashed before and don’t realize pain hurts, maybe they think boots are for different people, maybe they think their bikes are much too cool to be seen with boots, and maybe it’s something else…
We believe that, very soon, we’ll have an answer for these people…the answer might not be motorcycle boots in the way they are perceived today…but it will be an answer that will make people wear more appropriate footwear when they ride, and it will make them look really good when they do or do not ride.
More soon…
